Monita Wagma

Monita Wagma is a radio host, DJ and Islamic scholar based in Duisburg, Ruhrgebiet/ Germany.

Her sets move fluidly between genres, drawing on a wide range of sonic archives—blending diasporic sounds, experimental textures, and club music into narrative-driven journeys. Working across languages and contexts, she approaches music as a form of memory, translation, and social connection.

She has performed in clubs, festivals, radio stations and museum contexts, bringing a sensitive and dynamic approach to the dancefloor as well as to listening environments.

Monita Wagma hosts Cup of Tea on 674FM (Cologne), where she and invited guests explore their record collections live on Air. On Studio Néau (Eupen, Belgium), she runs Maenad Transmissions, a live-show dedicated to ritual, transformation, and the emotional depth of music.

Alongside her artistic work, she is active in the field of civic education.
