Mai Kawano

Born in Tokyo in 2002, Mai Kawano graduated from high school and went on to study piano performance at the Tokyo College of Music. During her studies, she received a scholarship and participated in a short-term exchange program at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona, where she studied with Alex Alguacil.

She studied piano with Chika Inaoka, Motoi Kawashima, and Kyoko Kaise. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts under Florian Hölscher. Rooted in the classical tradition, her work encompasses performance, composition, and arrangement across various stylistic and historical contexts, with a particular focus on contemporary music.
