Lana Mawlood & Shayan Navab

Shayan Navab is newly based in Berlin, after a four-year spell in the UK. He wrote his undergraduate dissertation at Cambridge University on immigrant identity in Germany through the lens of hip-hop, and is wanting to dedicate the next few years to the research, curation and review of diaspora art. As an Iranian he sees this as the best way to untangle the second generations’ ever-complicated relationship to home. Lana Mawlood is an emerging reporter on SWANA society and culture, based between London, Cairo and Germany. Current project work includes Awazêni, a monthly residency on Radio Al Hara exploring the relationship between archive, sound, and resistance in relation to the four regions of Kurdistan and the diaspora.
