Katayoun

Katayoun is an Amsterdam-based DJ, selector, cultural researcher, and curator with a focus on reviving the rich 20th-century sonic histories of Iran and the wider region. Her visionary DJ-archival practice creates immersive listening experiences that connect music, storytelling, and research while uncovering overlooked narratives. Her acclaimed radio shows "Female Vocalists from Iran and Beyond" (2018–present) and "Sonic Imaginaries" (2024–present) have garnered international attention and praise.

As a DJ, Katayoun effortlessly moves crowds by connecting different parts of the world through genre-blending sets that cross borders and traditions. Her selections invite discovery while reimagining familiar sounds in unexpected ways through shared or complementary styles.
