Cleo is a Black trans woman who has already been imprisoned for 1 year. She was sentenced to 12 years in prison in April. Cleo did not get a fair trial. This conviction was never about evidence. It was about what Cleo represents—a Black trans woman, a migrant, a survivor. She was not treated as a human being, but as a projection of fear, prejudice, and erasure. But this system cannot claim victory over Cleo. She says, "You may have caged my body, but my spirit roams free. My mind is intact. My truth will live on."

Justice4Cleo is a Berlin-based activist collective raising awareness of Cleo's situation in a fight against systemic transmisogynoir. Support their fundraiser here.
