Jon-Carlos Evans

Jon-Carlos Evans is an award-winning American filmmaker, audiovisual artist, and writer. A native of St.Louis, MO, he holds a B.A. in Film Production from Webster University-St. Louis and an MFA in Media Arts Production from the City College of New York. His cinematic and audiovisual works oscillate between genres/themes of speculative fiction, archival recontextualization, and improvised realities through collisions of analog and digital mediums.

As musical alter ego, Klaas von Karlos is the founder of the audiovisual collective ReVerse Bullets and collaborator in the projects BIINDS, Naked Sweatshop, Divan Rouge, and OXI. Past residency selections and support for his work include Elektronmusikstudio Stockholm, Harvestwork Media Center NYC, CTM/Transmediale Hacklab, Ableton MIDI Hacklab, and Goethe Institut Kamerun. His past works have received accolades and recognitions such as the Eastman Kodak Student Grant (Winner), Honolulu International Festival (Aloha Accolade), Mexico International Film Festival (Silver Palm), and Worldfest - Houston International Film Festival (Bronze Remi), Best Scripted Series (FANPITCH - Sitiges Film Festival), as well as the Bluecat Screenplay Competition, and Austin Film Festival Script Competition.

He currently works as the Programme Lead for the Creative Production (Film) MA at Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts & Technology in Berlin.
