JINI

JINI is known for his uplifting sets, which blend powerful disco and house with rare groove, jazz, and techno elements.

With his close partner Koichi Shima, he co-founded "Soul Matters" in 2014, a party focused on disco, house, and rare-grooves. In 2017, the event was moved from its original location, "heavysick ZERO" in Nakano, to "The Room", a famous jazz club in Shibuya that is owned by Shuya Okino of Kyoto Jazz Massive. Up to its closing in 2024, they also hosted a lounge version of the event called "Soul Matters Lounge" at "Kabuki Lounge" in Shinjuku. Additionally, they organized more jazz-focused events under the name of "Jazz Matters", held occasionally at venues like "ZERO" at Aoyama and "Counter Club" at Shimokitazawa.

JINI has gained the respect of discriminating music lovers for its commitment to finding and presenting music that ranges from upcoming rare grooves to modern sounds.

He also performs as a solo DJ at several venues in Shibuya, such as a regular party, "MARKI" at "Club Ball", and the music bar "Tunnel/Red Bar" in Aoyama. He has also been based in Berlin since 2022 and spent time in Japan and Europe. These days, his love of Brazilian music has led him to visit the nation and collaborate with Brazilian musicians, enhancing his ties to Brazil.
