Jeremy Lev Steinberger

Jeremy Steinberger is a filmmaker and journalist born in Los Angeles, who came of age in Austin, Texas, and recently moved to Berlin to explore his heritage through storytelling. He creates experimental music films and documentaries that explore how sound, place, and memory shape identity. His work centers on artists who defy dominant narratives—those who use music as a language of resistance, transformation, and connection. As the video lead at Studio 1210, Jeremy brings a documentary sensibility to the live-recording environment, focusing on the energy, vulnerability, and improvisation at the heart of music-making. He recently directed a short film for Willie Nelson and has collaborated with artists across the U.S. and Europe. His work has appeared in Bandcamp Daily, The Austin Chronicle, KUT, and Consequence. Through film and journalism, he seeks to make visible the creative processes that usually stay hidden—revealing how collaboration itself becomes a story.
