Jawhara/Joey Bacha

Jawhara, also known as Joey, is a dancer from Syria/Belgium exploring street and club cultures, with a focus on house, funk styles, and Hiphop. Drawn to the connections that dance creates between people, music, and communities, she is curious about the different forms these connections can take and how she can express them through different outputs. Beyond dance, her interests extend to IT, music, movement in its broader forms, cooking, organising, politics, and writing.
