Industrial Romantico

Industrial Romantico is the multidisciplinary, politically charged alter ego of Italian artist and activist Tommaso Dapri, founder of the independent cultural center Tempio del Futuro Perduto and one of the key figures behind the rise of Milan’s and Italy's electronic scene in the 2000s.

Launched in 2019 as a reaction to the aesthetic flattening and ethical decay of the global dance music industry, Industrial Romantico is more than a musical act — it's a militant manifesto in sonic form. Born from two decades of experience in rave culture, protest movements, club organizing, and urban pedagogy, this project refuses genre conformity and commercial logic.

Every performance — whether DJ set, live analog session, or hybrid format — is built on improvisation, emotional intensity, and a site-specific approach. There are no fixed playlists. The soundscape evolves in real time, drawing from ghetto-acid house, italo-french hardcore, electro, techno, synth pop, and folk or sacred music from around the world. The result is a journey that’s raw, unpredictable, and deeply resonant with the political and existential tensions of our time.

In 2021, Industrial Romantico founded Italo Ghetto Records, a self-managed platform through which he released two vinyl records and a dozen digital releases. The label also curates photography exhibitions (from erotic street photography to urban landscapes), organizes performances, and supports politically engaged cultural production. Through this platform, he also published Futuro Perduto, a poetic and philosophical book exploring loneliness, resistance, and desire in a collapsing world.

Industrial Romantico has performed across Europe and beyond, with appearances in Berlin, Paris, Tokyo, Barcelona, Miami, Belgrade, Ukraine, Lyon, Malta, Hannover, Slovenia, Vilnius and more. His legendary extended sets at the Tempio del Futuro Perduto — some lasting over seven hours — have become symbolic experiences in the underground scene, merging dancefloor energy with cultural subversion. This is not just music. It’s a ritual, a call to arms, and an invitation to feel something real in an era of emotional numbness.

"I want to produce the perfect soundtrack for a decadent world like ours. A sound born from contradiction, violence, beauty and desire — to accompany the end, and ignite what comes after."
