Fabian Kagimu

Frank Fabian Kagimu is a Ugandan-born transgender woman, studying community psychology , feminist, and human rights defender. She is the Founding Director of Prism Empowerment and Development Initiative (PRISM Uganda), a trans women-led organization working in Uganda and South Africa to support transgender and gender-diverse communities through safe shelter, food assistance, humanitarian response, healthcare, mental health services, HIV prevention and education, and economic empowerment. PRISM Uganda operates a trans-led health clinic and two trans shelters serving displaced LGBTQIA+ people across Uganda and South Africa.

Fabian advocates for the rights of LGBTQIA+ communities at national, regional, and global levels. She is a member of the BMZ Action Network on Forced Displacement, serves on the Board of Trans Network Uganda, and is a Board Member of the Trans Safety Emergency Fund in Zurich, Switzerland. Her work is rooted in lived experience and a commitment to advancing dignity, protection, and justice for displaced , Asylum seekers and marginalized communities.
