Erick Nidal

Erick Nidal (he/him) is a Bangkok and NY-based DJ and international relations specialist from Chicago with a decades-long passion for deep, soulful music.

Chasing his spiritual belief in house music, he began DJing in New York City’s underground and has performed across the world, featuring on radio stations including the Lot Radio, Radio Alhara, Bangkok Community Radio, as well as Refuge Worldwide.

Erick Nidal’s life and curiosity has afforded him a unique immersion in global rhythms. Erick Nidal was born and raised to a Colombian-born Palestinian mother, and Danish-Greek father whose love of music exposed him to house, soul, jazz, funk, salsa, Palestinian folk zaffa, alternative, and numerous other global sounds since the womb.

Away from music, Erick Nidal has worked for almost a decade in diplomacy and humanitarian affairs, including four years at the United Nations in New York. His career and music both intersect at a point of internationalism that informs his worldview and curation.

Erick Nidal has a BA in French and Political Science from Purdue University and MA in International Relations from the University of Chicago, specializing in Japanese studies. He speaks English, Arabic, Japanese, French, Spanish and Thai. Erick is also an active member of the Ikenobo Ikebana chapter of New York.
