Discos Fantástico! (Jalo Núñez del Prado)

For the past sixteen years, Jalo Núñez Del Prado, a passionate music archaeologist and collector, has dedicated his career to the discovery, curation, and promotion of diverse musical expressions from across Latin America. His journey began in 2006 with the founding of Plastilina Records, a label focused on revitalizing Peru's music industry while staying deeply connected to the local music scene.

Today, through labels like Discos Fantástico, Ellas Rugen, and others under his leadership, Jalo has successfully rescued and revived thousands of forgotten musical gems. From cumbia, boogaloo, cha cha chá, and descarga, to boleros, rock beat, and other hidden treasures of the tropical spectrum, his work has brought these sounds back into the spotlight, preserving their cultural significance for new generations. Jalo’s passion for Latin American rarities has also led him to become a sought-after DJ, spinning vinyl from the 60s, 70s, and 80s on stages around the world, including Berlin, London, Stockholm, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, and Barcelona. Currently based in Madrid, Jalo continues to explore and share the rich musical heritage of Latin America with global audiences.
