Daniel ‘El Congo’ Allen

Daniel Allen was born in Cuba in 1979. At the age of 9, he began to study trumpet in the Music School in Holguin (EVA) to continue his high education 4 years after in the Music Conservatory (Holguin City) and then in Havana at the Music University (ISA). There he had got the chance to meet Herbie Hancock, Nicholas Payton , Danilo Perez and Kenny Baron at the International Jazz Festival in Cuba. Donald Harrison invited him to study in the music school where he was teaching in New Orleans. Due to visa issues, Daniel decided to go to Europe.
