Christine Kakaire

Christine Kakaire (she/her) is a Berlin-based writer, editor, teacher and speaker.

Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Christine began working in record stores while studying for a Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology and English literature. After two years working for Blackmarket Records and Juno Records in London Christine relocated to Berlin. Her professional life in the German capital comprised of content curation, marketing and strategy for music content & music streaming platforms, before embarking on freelance music journalism full time, across various mediums.

Christine’s writing, editing, podcast and event hosting has been published by Ableton, Audio Technica, Crack, DJ Mag, Groove, Pitchfork and Red Bull Music Academy. She has presented and spoken at numerous music conferences and festivals across Europe, and she currently teaches about popular music culture and critical theory as a Lecturer at BIMM Institute, Berlin and London.
