Bishop Black

Bishop Black is a British artist who has been performing initially in the medium of performance art, before shifting to drag, burlesque and later to theater. Having worked within film for the last few years, they now work on stage, creating unique but connected performances that utilize mythology, occultism, queerness and dance. Bishop has worked at Ballhaus Naunynstraße, presenting their first solo performance Becoming My Body at the Ballhaus Naunynstraße in 2019 and made their directorial debut with the performance Flight of the Canaries (2023). They have also worked for companies such as the Gorki Theater, Haus of Lunacy, as well as having worked with prominent directors, such as Bruce LaBruce and Shulea Cheang.
