Venezuelan-Portuguese musician, producer, DJ and record collector currently based in Brussels. Known in the independent music circuit as “the hardest working man in Tropical music”, he’s the founder of critically acclaimed tropical psych punk outfit Fumaça Preta, afro-caribbean psychedelic sensation Conjunto Papa Upa, legendary record shop Vintage Voudou Records and tropical experimental label Music With Soul Records. In his role as a DJ, he’s committed to never give in to the obvious, betting on the least imaginable connections between Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America. Traveling around the globe for the past 15 years, always in search of the most surprising, irresistibly danceable records and the stories behind them, he’s built one of the most world-renowned record collections in the realm of Tropical music, which he showcases on all his DJ sets and his weekly program in the online radio streaming app ROVR.
