Transatlantic Wires | Qrichi

With Qrichi

-Qrichi: DJ set traversing the catalog of his Eck Echo and associated labels releasing contemporary Latin electronica, with the occasional winks to UK-bass and house music.

CONCEPT: From the mid 19th century with the rise of telegraph communications, underwater cables spanning the Atlantic Ocean have been transmitting information via electromagnetic waves between the Americas and Europe. While their physical make-up until the present day of the internet has evolved from single wires to optical fibre, the principle remains the same.

As culture moves forward in constant reaction to technology and information, so does music as its sonic representation. Eck Echo (Peru/Berlin) presents a curation that takes listeners on a journey through the electronically shaped soundscapes of Afro-Latin music
