The Refugee Movement Is The Movement of The 21st Century | When The Jackal Leaves The Sun

With When The Jackal Leaves The Sun

In this conversation, curator Anguezomo Nzé Mba Bikoro, activist and director of International Women Space Jennifer Kamau, and human rights lawyer Hanna Hakiki focus on the struggles of the Refugee movement in Germany and international human rights laws on migrant populations. They reflect on the colonial continuities of apartheid laws on current migrant communities, how feminist grassroots organisations fight against state abuse, the conflicts of intersectional work between activism and administrative law, and the effects of generational trauma on contemporary experiences and mental health. Through framing the conversation with psycho-analysis and psycho-therapy tools, they contextualise the multiple forms of colonisation and accessibility of protection, forced migrant deportations, refugee camp revolts, narrative positions of court, police & civilian archives, the complicity of oppression between the creative industries and the German state during the WWII. How can we create tools of de-traumatisation forming a different approach to resistance, self-care, and historical reparation?
