Suomi Special traces the rebounding sounds of a gloomy journey through Hyrynsalmi, Oulu, Vaasa, Pori and Helsinki. It is an attempt to describe and share the multi-stop road trip that passes through the crystallised vista of pines, spruces and birches using audio, and evoke the ecstatic feeling of the 18-hour car drive. The compilation brings together works by fascinating artists such as SØS Gunver Ryberg, Forest Drive West, Planetary Assault Systems that accompany the quest for a sonorous memory. Departing from and arriving to the bold and distinct atmosphere in Helsinki, the show circumnavigates the pacific yet untamed wilderness of the Nordic region.
