Live Shows

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: All information must be submitted via the submission form four days before your show at the latest. Artwork cannot be created for submissions received later than this.

ARRIVAL TIME: Please be at Weserstraße 166, 12045 at least 15 minutes before your show. The studio is in the back room, through the bar area.

CHAT ROOM: It’s radio, not a DJ mix, so talking on the microphone is warmly welcomed :) Shout out the chat room if possible, people can join in at refugeworldwide.com/chat. If you haven't already, please sign up to our Discord via this link: https://discord.gg/XngYbxbYge

DRINKS: Hosts / guests receive 1x free drink (please ask at the bar which products are included) and a 15% discount on all other menu items on the day.

ACCESSIBILITY: Unfortunately, the space is not accessible for wheelchairs: there is a step at the entrance of the building, a narrow corridor and a toilet not accessible for wheelchairs. Please let us know if you need assistance or have access needs, we will try to provide support as best we can.

OUR DJ EQUIPMENT: 1x DJM900-NXS2 mixer, 2x CDJ2000-NXS2 CDJs, 2x SL-1210MK5 turntables, 2x Ortofon Concorde MKII DJ cartridges, 2x Shure SM58 microphones, 2x AI AI AI TMA-2 headphones.

TECH: Someone from our team will be available to help with any tech questions or issues, don’t hesitate to ask. Please let us know in the submission form if there are any special requests or equipment that needs to be set up.

BOOTH VOLUME: We have a limiter installed in the booth to keep our lovely neighbours happy, which activates when the Booth Monitor knob is turned past 12 o’ clock. Beyond this point it won’t get louder in the booth but it will sound worse — please bear this in mind!

SHOW RECORDINGS DOWNLOAD: The recording of your show will be available to download here: https://bit.ly/refuge-show-dl. Please allow up to 3 days for it to appear here, and please wait a week before uploading to Soundcloud (if possible share via our website first).

Pre-Recorded Shows

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: For pre-recorded shows, which are always broadcast on Mondays, we need the file by Thursday of the previous week at the latest.

TECHNICAL INFO: Recordings often arrive too quiet or too loud. Best practice is to compare the overall volume with another show on our site and make adjustments as necessary. If possible, apply some gentle compression to keep levels consistent and set peak volume (normalization) to -1dB.

Please also check mic levels are consistent before sending – these should be peaking around -5/6dB.

Recordings should be as close as possible in length to that of your agreed show time (1 or 2hrs) BUT NOT SHORTER!

Pre-recorded shows only air on Mondays. If your show is scheduled on any other day it will be as a live show from the studio (unless otherwise agreed). Thank you!
