Sono Mayrit

Sono Mayrit is a record and tape collector focused on the music of the Western Mediterranean Sea, researching the connections and influences between Andalusian and North African music.

The project name reflects the Arabic past of Madrid, the artist's hometown, a city that has been shaped by centuries of cultural exchange. In particular, it highlights the Andalusian heritage of flamenco, which shares a common history and musical vocabulary with Moroccan and Algerian music.

He is the co-founder of the Cutrinhos collective, a non-stop digging agency, and group of analog music enthusiasts.
