Natalia Escobar is a Colombian interdisciplinary artist, producer, and DJ. Her work spans experimental film, sound, performance, and installation, exploring Abya Yala phenomenology, Indigenous cosmovisions, memory, and identity, while challenging colonial narratives and centering feminist perspectives and situated knowledge.
Escobar channels her musical output as Poison Arrow and Pierce with Arrow alongside Troy Pierce. Her latest project, KOAXULA, with Daniela Huerta, reimagines and decolonizes feminine archetypes through performance and sound. Escobar has released music on Dais Records, Pleasure District, and Exit Records, and performed internationally at venues and festivals including Berghain, Tresor, Funkhaus, MUTEK MX, and Neue Nationalgalerie. Her sets blend diverse genres into immersive sonic narratives, unfolding as richly textured soundscapes woven with storytelling and depth.
Her film Aribada premiered at Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes, receiving nominations for the L’Œil d’or and Queer Palm, and winning awards at Oberhausen, FICCALI, and Stuttgarter Filmwinter. Escobar’s visual work has been shown at HKW Berlin, Berlinische Galerie, La Casa Encendida, Cinemateca de Bogotá, and the National Museum of Colombia.
