Monibi is a DJ and music producer. Born in France, currently living in Berlin. “Low End Therapy” is Monibi’s eclectic approach to murky bass music, beat-science, and anything loosely related to the hardcore continuum spectrum. Monibi’s big love for radio has taken her from student radio to creating radio shows for WDR Cosmo, Rinse France, Hör Berlin, Radio 8000, and more. She’s been a resident at Red Light Radio Amsterdam, THF radio Berlin, and now at Berlin’s Refuge Worldwide. Highlights behind the decks for Monibi include playing for Boiler Room Berlin sharing the bill with Mala (DMZ), CTM Festival in RSO on the Refuge Worldwide Radio stage alongside Nyege Nyege artists, or Gewölbe Köln with Miss Kittin. Playing the local German circuits, gigging at about:blank, Renate, Oxi, Anomalie, Mensch Meier, Krake Festival, Institut für Zukunft Leipzig, Gewölbe Köln, Odonien, and more. In terms of production, what started out as a music making experiment with the Cologne-based label and artist collective baumusik, turned into a steady stream of music releases: since the 2019 baumusik debut EP “Faux Pas”, Monibi’s made her lockdown EP “Forest Love" out via Diffuse Reality in 2022, and her recent post-dubstep music has been released on young Berlin labels such as Twisting Knobs and W133, that have emerged out of Martyn’s 3024 mentoring community. Concerned with opening up access and participation to the music industry, Monibi regularly hosts music technology workshops. She’s involved with the Berlin crew Femme Bass Mafia as a DJ and music production mentor. She’s also part of the Eclat Crew Berlin, a music making community of female, trans, and NB producers.
