MIJU

Belgrade-born, Vilnius-based MIJU is seamlessly blending in fractions of breakbeat, house, acid and electro, accompanied by melodic undertones. MIJU is a new resident of Opium and Gallery1986 and has monthly shows on Radio Vilnius.

MIJU is a DJ and a feminist both by day and by night. What distinguishes her selection is her determination to create unexpected and eclectic twists and turns which resonate between the boundaries of old and new. In her view, electronic music is an expression of freedom, and dancing is setting you free. MIJU has been a dedicated dancer and electronic music lover for years, and this grew into a desire to offer her selection to the dancefloor. MIJU's sets are always playful and her main goal is to push for that extra step.

As well as in Lithuania, MIJU played in the Netherlands, Brussels, Cyprus, Serbia, Latvia, Montenegro and Kosovo. In 2023, MIJU released her first EP ‘Metatron’ for Belgrade-based label headroom rec. She hosted a showcase at ADE that took place in 2022 under the EXIT festival. MIJU has hosted radio shows at Amsterdam's vinyl shop Mary Go Wild, French Ola radio and Brussels-based Kiosk Radio.

MIJU shared decks with Kim Ann Foxman, Dixon, John Talabot, Daniel Avery, DJ Nobu, Elena Colombi, Identified Patient, mad miran, ISAbella, Perel, Kino Todo, Prins Thomas, Lauer, Manfredas, DASCO, Breaka, Kiril Shapovalov and many more. Apart from being a dedicated music selector and dancer, MIJU is a feminist and claims space for female and queer artists and promotes true values of rave on the dancefloor.
