escapverte

escapverte is the overarching alias and sonic universe of sound artist RJN, a profile whose core philosophy seeks to adopt the role of the conduit, supporting the passage of electronic music from the fingers of the creator to the ears of the beholder, through various means & styles of sonic sharing/storytelling. Whilst on this journey, RJN makes sure to always dedicate time to supporting & championing friends and artists whose work resonates.

During RJN’s years promoting and practising electronic music, the artistry has taken on many forms; from the experimental breakbeat-electro stylings of Squallfront (a duo who co-curate the label Ecke Records), the stripped-back UKG of Suno Soniason, the minimal deep house / electro under Robbiejn, the ambient & lush breakbeat/dub techno explorations of the escapverte, and the razor sharp minimalistic dub facing rhythms of the Rummelsburg Razor Gang alongside Deadbeat. RJN is also a part of the Groundtactics BLN Unit, offering Light Body Activations with tuning forks; sharing passion for sound, community, embodied philosophy and meaningful human connections. Currently residing in Berlin, RJN curates the party KƏYK at OHM, focussing on the interplay between deep minimal / house / dub(step) / techno .

RJN is the general manager of the new experimental live venue BLOCK1 in Berlin, and an Awareness Team Manager at THF Radio, where he also hosts a monthly ‘vinyl only diggers delight’ show with the Don’t Rush On A Wonk crew.

Project wise, the main focuses at present are: (1.) the new label Second City Audio alongside Ernest (with solo / side projects blossoming from this in the same style). Harnessing the aforementioned sound that embraces the stylings of the newest alias ‘Robbiejn’. (2.) A new ambient experimental LIVE piece under their escapverte moniker entitled ‘BRASSIC’, focussing on the harmonic interplay between brass / bronze and their composite relative metals.
