The Flea Market
Amongst the rising generation of Egyptian producers/DJs, Assyouti has been making a good name for himself and is now one of the most distinctive, unapologetic voices in Egypt's scene. Standing out due to his high-energy, aggressive and versatile track selection that flows between (but not limited to) bass, footwork, jungle, hard dance & deconstructed club, forms of music foreign to the local scene which has separated him from the pack. Dirty but elegant is the sound. Despite his young age, the 21 year old has already racked up multiple appearances on NTS, Rinse France, Reprezent, Radio Alhara as well as a monthly residency on Ma3azef Radio where he, using his "Waverider" alias, dives deep into some of his "non-club" influences like Punk, Post-Punk, Gothic Rock, EBM, Industrial, Cold Wave, Minimal Wave and other obscurities from the 1970s onwards.
