Basics of Knitting with Kindima Bah
As the cold season approaches, so does our desire to cozy up and enjoy the warmth of home. There’s no better way to embrace this time of year than with the comforting rhythm of knitting.
Kindima Bah is a Guinean-German textile and knit designer. Coming from a family of knitters on her German side, she was taught the craft at an early age by her mother. Since then, Kindima has become an expert in various types of knitting – including finger knitting, knitting with needles, and machine knitting. For Kindima, knitting is not only a craft but also an artistic and meditative practice that she loves to share with others.
In this workshop, Kindima will guide you through the basics of knitting – from the first stitches to knit and purl techniques, and finally casting off. Together, you will overcome any intimidation you might feel before starting your very first knitting project.
Needles and yarn will be provided – just bring yourself! Apply via the form below. These workshops are part of a fundraising creator flea market, organised by KMB Creative Network, and supporting Refuge Worldwide alongside other local causes.
Date: November 15th Time: 14:00 - 15:30 and 16:30 - 18:00 (8 spots per workshop) Address: KMB Creative Network, Torstraße 140, 10119 Berlin
