proxy_404 traveled to Istanbul in May 22 and had the honour to speak with many artists in and from this chaotic city. The artists of this city have been struggling for a long time with difficulties for which they find creative solutions. In this episode you will hear the following voices:

Kübra Uzun (IG @qubra_uzun), one of the mothers of the queer community, multidisciplinary artist and political activist. She is keeping the scene alive and shaking with e.g. @xsmrecordings and @throughthewindow_project.

Gamze (IG @gmz.music) is active in the underground rave community and shares her anger and energy to make a difference and fight for freedom.

Diana (IG @amdience) from Russia, who has only been in Istanbul for a few months and shares her first impressions with us.

Gräfin (IG @grafinmusic), who I had the pleasure to meet shortly before a big gig. She talks about expectations of society and about the two personas she has built for herself.

Yeşim (IG @y.unan_official), who supports marginalized people and creates safe spaces with her collective @siraen.says, talks about the political difficulties of the country.
